BA to fly to Denmark from London City
British Airways is opening up its route network from London City Airport with the launch of its first route to Scandinavia.
The airline has announced plans to start a new double daily weekday service from the Docklands Airport to Copenhagen in Denmark, providing a direct air link between the two capital cities.
There will also be one flight a day from London City on Sundays and one flight from Copenhagen on Saturdays. The new flights will start on September 12, and will be operated by British Airways wholly owned subsidiary BA CityFlyer with their fleet of brand new Embraer 190 aircraft.
Virgin to fly Manchester - Las Vegas
From 3 April 2011, Virgin Atlantic will be launching a twice weekly service from Manchester to Las Vegas, providing passengers with even more flight options for travel to Las Vegas from the UK.
The twice weekly service will operate on Thursdays and Sundays, perfect for long weekends and for those business travellers with Monday morning meetings who don't want to sacrifice their whole weekend.
Air Berlin to join oneworld
Germany's second largest airline is to join the oneworld airline alliance.
A memorandum of understanding between the airline and oneworld has been signed, with Air Berlin to start flying as part of the alliance in early 2012, in time for the opening of the new hub airport Berlin Brandenburg International.
New Cathay Pacific lounges at Heathrow
Passengers departing on Cathay Pacific flights from London to Hong Kong can enjoy greater comfort and convenience following the opening of the airline’s new First Class and Business Class Lounges located at the central concourse at London Heathrow Airport.
The 923 square-metre lounges feature Cathay Pacific’s signature Noodle Bar, providing a selection of authentic noodles for passengers to choose from. Another dining highlight is an improved buffet area with a wide selection of Western and Asian food and drinks.
